The entire certification process—from application submission to the final decision—typically takes between 1 and 4 weeks. The exact duration depends on factors such as the complexity of the skill being assessed, the time taken by the candidate to provide required documents, the scheduling of assessments or demonstrations, and the verification of references. Some straightforward skill areas with complete documentation can be completed in as little as 7 days, whereas more specialised or technical fields may require the full 4 weeks to accommodate in-depth evaluation and scheduling.
Total fees: AUD $205
To apply for the ASMATEC International Skill Certification, candidates must first pay a registration fee of AUD $50 at the time of submitting their application. This initial fee covers the processing of the application and the review of eligibility documents. Once the eligibility check is successfully completed, candidates are required to pay an assessment processing fee of AUD $125. This fee covers the cost of arranging and conducting the skill demonstration, as well as any related evaluations. If the candidate successfully completes the skill demonstration, a certificate issuance fee of AUD $30 must be paid before the official digital skill certificate is released.
For candidates who do not pass their skill demonstration on the first attempt, ASMATEC offers up to two additional attempts. Each additional skill demonstration attempt requires a fee of AUD $30, payable at the time of booking the re-assessment.
All fees are strictly non-refundable, regardless of the outcome at any stage of the process.
